"It's great playing live these days because the mums and dads are at the back and their kids are down the front singing all the words," says Simon with a smile. "We can't wait to get out there!"

Badly Drawn Boy

Lakeside Stage

As Badly Drawn Boy, Damon Gough puts a fresh spin on the traditions of classic singer-songwriters. When he emerged in the late '90s, his intricate, lilting melodies, quirky but heartfelt lyrics, and offbeat production touches fit in with the experimental pop fringe of artists like Scott 4 and the Beta Band, but Gough soon defined himself as a remarkable talent with 2000s The Hour of Bewilderbeast, his Mercury Prize-winning debut album. Since then he has cemented his national treasure status with albums including the soundtrack to About A Boy, which included hits Something To Talk About and Silent Sigh.

He celebrates 25 years of releasing music this year and we are thrilled to welcome him to our Sunday lineup on the Lakeside Stage at Camper Calling this year!

It showcases Izzie’s honest voice backed by epic violin and melodic finger-picked acoustic guitar. With impressive production and lyrics themed to escapism “People should love who they want to love people should walk where they want to walk, people should dance how they want to dance and just...love.”
